About the Website
"The thing under my bed waiting to grab my ankle isn't real. I know that, and I also know that if I'm careful to keep my foot under the covers, it will never be able to."
The name UnderMyBed was inspired by the introduction to the worst of the Stephen King books, Night Shift, although it's rather a cool name anyway. I bought the domain in 2004 with the vague intention of having some kind of book review site but it ended up being something else entirely. The site is now dedicated to my three dogs and our agility and flyball successes (and failures!) but the name had already been established.
Credit for this layout (August 18th 2008, V2 on October 23rd 2008) goes to undermybed (xHTML, CSS, graphics) and themodernlove (photo). The main photo was taken by Cat Clark in October 2008 and is of my lovely Kim. The silhouette is again of my beautiful Kim, adapted from a photograph taken by Katie Ford in August 2007. Both photos were used with permission from the photographer. The brushes and shapes are standard Adobe Photoshop 7/CS2. The main header title is Verdana Ref, and the main text font-family is Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif. The page headers are Constantia (or Georgia if you're not using Vista fonts). There is a simplified Sitemap available of the main site.
I am happily hosted by StreamLine Net and I'm using the Power User hosting plan. If you click this link here (or that banner down there) and sign up for a streamline.net account, I get some money back! (Big thank you to everyone who has done this so far). The website is best viewed in 1024x768, in Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, although it should be accessible in all browsers and screen resolutions. The blog is powered by Wordpress.
